Composite Bullnose Edge Board Steps

Use Starter Clips To Align The Decking Steps

Carefully plan the area checking all measurements.

​Measure and cut composite bullnose edge boards and composite decking boards where required.

Fix decking starter clips to the edge of the step at every 300mm max intervals centre to centre. Screw through the hole on each decking starter clip with the screws provided ensuring that the screw is fully screwed into place to prevent catching on the bullnose edge board underneath.

Fix the bullnose edge board by clipping into the decking starter clip. Check the bullnose edge board is securely in place before continuing.

​Where decking boards and bullnose edge boards meet leave an 8mm expansion gap.​

Using Metal Decking Fastclips

Fix metal clips to the bullnose edge boards at every 300mm max intervals with the screws provided. Push the metal clips into the bullnose edge board groove and screw the other side down through the hole.

Fix the inner decking board into place by pushing into the metal clips. Pre-drill holes and screw through the face of the decking board avoiding the decking board groove. Start at 80mm approx then at every 300mm max intervals.

​Assured Composite^® decking boards or Assured Composite^® fascia can be used for the risers.​

Using Plastic Decking Fastclips

Fix the inner decking board by measuring from the bullnose edge board the width of a decking board and a 6mm gap and mark.

Fix decking starter clips at every 300mm max intervals. Screw through the hole on each decking starter clip with the screws provided ensuring that the screw is fully screwed into place to prevent catching on the decking board underneath.

Fix the inner decking board by pushing into the decking starter clip. Check the decking board is securely in place before continuing.

Slide the number of plastic clips required between the decking board grooves and fix into place at every 300mm max intervals using the screws provided.
